Biz Trips, Holidaze, and Head Colds

So, I've been away for awhile....Life is still getting in the way of blogging and craftiness. I was in Santa Monica on business most of last week. I had planned to do some blogging while at the hotel, but the wireless connection SUCKED big time and it was all I could do just to check my emails. I mean, really, I get a better signal at my Mother-in-law's cabin in the woods, than I did all over LA.

Anyway, when I got home we packed up and headed to the cabin in Central Oregon for a fun Memorial Day weekend with our friends. I started feeling bad on the drive up over the mountain. By the next day I had a full fledged head cold. But I fortified myself with DayQuil, Zicam, and a Hot Toddy and made it to the Modest Mouse show in Bend. I'm glad I did too. Johnny Marr (formerly of the Smiths) is sooooo super cute. I'm so glad he is playing in a band again, and he adds a certain special something to MM that makes them ROCK!

All in all, we all had a great time. But I think I am suffering for it now. My cold got way worse and now I am dragging through work, hackin and sneezin. Oh well. Was worth it I guess.

My Little Toothless Kitty

Our kitty, Gargamella (who's name is derived from the character Gargamel from the Smurfs for reasons that are much too long to get into here) had a major dental proceedure and extraction today. She did fine, but is currently sporting huge, dilated pupils and a wobbley walk. The dilated pupils are a little freaky though. She had one painful tooth removed, which brings her tooth count down to 21 from 29. She's only 10, but at this rate she may be out of teeth sooner rather than later.

My kitties are my babies so today might have been more traumatic for me than it was for the patient. But, she is home now and seems to be doing just fine.

The Vet recommends that we brush her teeth to keep them healthier. Yeah, right. I don't know any cat that would let you brush its teeth. I think I'll save myself some pain on that one. Who brushes their cat's teeth? Honestly.

Get well soon Mella! We love you!

Mail Love Part 2

A few weeks ago I promised to show you some of the transfers I got in my big ebay purchase.
Well, our scanner isn't hooked up and we are having trouble with our Mac (which has photoshop on it), so I had to just take some regular ole photos of a few that I love.

I already have a super cool set of smaller, more childlike horoscope signs.
These new ones are larger and more stylized, but still very cool. I could see these on t-shirts or tote bags.

I don't really believe in astrology much, but I really do love the astrology themed transfer patterns I have been finding.

Bloggy and Crafty Block

I'm having a blog and craft block right now. Life just seems to be getting in the way. Work and home are taking up a lot of my time. I feel like I'm in a bit of a brain block as a consequence. I hope it doesn't last long though. I do have so many crafty and bloggy things I want to do. My to-do list is soooooo long (although it is mostly in my head). I hope once we get some of our home decorating and renovating done I will have more time to devote to my hobbies.

Since I don't have any crafts to show you right now, here is a look at our condo view recently :) I'm a lucky, lucky girl....

Chillin

Our cat PeaOui (pronounced Pee Wee) just loves W. She follows him around. She wants to be by his side at all times. She can be really annoying, but they have many sweet moments together.

Is it May already?

Jeeze, where does the time go? All of a sudden it is May and I don't know what happened with all the things I wanted to do last month, let alone all the things I want to do in the months ahead. I'm not a bad time manager, but I always seem to have more things to do than time to do them in.

Anyway, I apologize for not fulfilling my April resolutions. I looked back and actually only posted 9 posts this last month, when I intended to post at least once a day. I took lots of pictures, but not all of them ended up on Flickr. I didn't write any stories either.

I did get some crafting done. A couple of commissions for friends.

We also started painting our condo. Took us a little while to figure out the colors, but finally got started this weekend. At the speed we are going it will be awhile before we finish the whole place, but at least we got started.

So, I'm left trying to figure out what I actually do with my time that prevents me from getting more crafts, blogging and writing done.
Well, I work 40 hours a week.
I come home from work and cook dinner every night (well, almost every night).
I clean.
I do errands, shopping, etc. for the house on my lunch break, after work, and on the weekends.
I try to excersize every Saturday and Sunday.
I go to the farmer's market every Saturday.
I play with my kitties.
I spend time with my husband (we like to go out a little too much I think).
I watch tv and movies (always try to do some crafting while watching the boob tube).

I guess regular life takes up more time than I realized....

I need some new resolutions for May. Better to try and achieve some goals than have none at all, right?
