At least I accomplished one thing this weekend

1st in horoscope series, originally uploaded by lucky lisp.

I finished the first of the cute horoscope signs. I think it turned out well. It took me longer than some other designs that I've done before. It is a little more detailed, and I decided to fill in some of the areas rather than just doing outlines.

First Sprouts and New Projects

The first sprouts are popping up in my Aerogarden!!!!! The regular basil popped up first and the purple basil is just poking its first little leaf out (click on the image to get a larger picture). It's so exciting already. I can't wait for more of them to begin sprouting.

I've finally gotten around to using some of the vintage embroidery patterns that I got in a big lot on ebay. This is one of my favorite sheets. It has little baby horoscope signs. They are so sweet and just begging to be embroidered on a onesie.

I picked the Taurus to start with. This is also my first try in using an iron-on transfer pencil.

It worked like a dream. and this is the project in progress so far. Will probably finish up this weekend and get started on the next one. I want to do the whole series on onesies. I hope they turn out well, but so far I am pretty happy with the results.

Gardening at Night

W wanted me to be able to expand my gardening abilities and because we choose to live without a real yard where I could grow vegetables and flowers he bought me this AeroGarden for Christmas.

Because of the condo purchase and move, I am just now getting it set up. My first kit is gourmet herbs. I'll be growing Italian Basil, Thyme, Mint, Dill, Parsley, Chives, and Purple Basil. The first sprouts are supposed to pop up in as little as 3 days!!!

After the herbs are done, I'm going to plant the cherry tomato kit!

Old and New Craftiness

So, I've been meaning to post some pictures of my embroidery for a long time, but you know...all the usual excuses got in the way. I was going through my big ole box of embroidery stuff and found these old pieces I did more than 10 years ago. Originally I think I had 8 squares that I was going to make a quilt out of. But now I only have 5 and 4 of them are sewn together already. Not sure what I will end up doing with them.

Next, my newest endeavor is embroidering onesies with cool designs. I started this when all my friends started having babies years ago. But, they were so easy to do I just started making a stock of them. So, I'm going to start on ETSY store in the near future and see if I can sell some of them. Or, maybe a few of the cool stores downtown would want to consign them. We'll see.

Lots more to come....
